Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) was projected to win Sunday night’s Republican primary in Washington, D.C.
Haley, a lobbyist favorite, outperformed “America First” former President Donald Trump by nearly 30 points with Republican voters in the nation’s capital, colloquially known as “the swamp.”Voting ends at 7 p.m., and The Associated Press called The race ended around 8:30 p.m. with Haley leading 63 percent to 33 percent.
Looking at the breakdown, nearly 1,300 voters voted for Haley and nearly 680 voted for former President Trump.

Haley has lost all Republican primaries so far, including in her home state of South Carolina. Ms. Haley specifically spent more than $76 million to defeat Mr. Trump in four primary states: Michigan, South Carolina, New Hampshire, and Iowa.
Haley was the last Republican challenger to remain in the race despite Trump winning six early voting states. Haley told NBC. meet the press On Sunday, she said she plans to stay in the race “as long as I’m competitive.”
“I’ve always said this requires a competitive edge. As long as we’re competitive, as long as we’re showing that there’s a place for us, I’m going to keep fighting. That’s always been the case. It was,” she said.
