Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis Really Running for 2028

Former Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) spoke Tuesday on CNN's “Anderson Cooper 360” with former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-South Carolina) and Ron DeSantis, his Republican rivals for the presidential nomination. The former governor (Republican, Florida) is actually running for president in 2028.

Cooper asked about Haley, “Do you think she's running for vice president?”

Christie said: My evidence for that is that she doesn't say she doesn't like it. Now, Ron DeSantis has stated that she will not accept it under any circumstances. I said I would not accept it under any circumstances. why doesn't she say that? I think the only reason is because you've been watching politics long enough. If one of us doesn't eliminate something, they will have control over it. Her problem now is that she wants to be everything to everyone. And last week's issue of slavery revealed an even bigger problem. If you want to defeat Donald Trump, you have to fight him. When will it come? I can't say I forgive him. There is no denying that you will be his vice president. ”

Cooper said, “They're running attack ads. Haley and DeSantis are playing against each other.”

Christie said: They are acting as if they are competing. Fighting for second place. What is happening now is a race towards 2028. That's it. They are trying to put themselves in the best position for 2028. And we have to win now because I think it would be disastrous for this country if either Donald Trump or Joe Biden were president for another four years. ”
