Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor who challenged Trump in the primary, warned that Republicans should prepare for Democrats to portray a “younger” and “more dynamic” candidate to replace President Biden, and reiterated her call for cognitive abilities testing for all candidates for federal office.

“They’re going to make smart decisions. They’re going to bring in young people. They’re going to bring in people with vitality. They’re going to bring in people who have been tested,” Haley said. The Wall Street Journal Saturday.

“Now is the time for Republicans to prepare and be prepared for what’s coming, because there’s no way the Democratic Party will survive if we allow Joe Biden to continue to be the nominee.”

Some Democrats have called on Biden to drop out of the race following his performance in the debate with former President Trump.

“Our opponents now know they can do anything they want between now and January 20th,” Haley said of Biden’s performance.

Haley said in May that she would vote for Trump in November’s presidential election, despite a fiercely contested primary in which the two candidates traded personal attacks against each other.

She also told The Wall Street Journal that she had been in touch with the former president recently and had a “good conversation.”

Trump previously said he believed Haley would be “joining our team in some capacity.”

Haley previously served as Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations.

“America deserves the strongest leader it can have,” Haley said on X Saturday. “Thursday night was shocking, and it’s why I’ve been calling for mental ability testing for everyone running for office. Joe Biden owes it to the American people to be transparent about his own cognitive abilities.”

She added that Washington, D.C., is “full of older people” and voters need to know “who can withstand a challenge and who can’t.”

“To the millions of Nikki Haley supporters who are tired of Donald Trump and his MAGA allies constantly attacking them, driving moderates and independents out of the party, and repeatedly refusing to accept the results of the 2024 election, there is a place for you in President Biden’s coalition,” Biden spokesperson Amar Moosa said. He spoke to Fox News Digital about Haley’s comments.

Haley also questioned Trump’s cognitive abilities during the Republican primary, suggesting he appeared to confuse her with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Haley, 52, told the Journal that Democrats risk losing lower-tier races if they keep Biden as their nominee.

“If they continue down this path and make Biden the nominee, they’re going to hurt America,” she said.
