Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley spent $31 million in New Hampshire, finishing second in the Republican primary.
The huge amount of money spent to lose the Granite State shows how strong former President Donald Trump's grassroots support is in the state.
It also suggests that Haley wasted money challenging Trump, who spent $15.8 million defending against globalist attacks.
Below is the advertising spending of Republican primary candidates' campaigns and outside groups in New Hampshire (CNN) calculated:
- Haley supporters: $31 million
- Other: $31 million
- Trump supporters: $15.8 million

Haley's failure in New Hampshire mirrors her third-place finish in Iowa.
Haley spent 2 million yen more than Gov. Ron DeSantis (Republican), the most of all candidates. Both represent more than half of the total $123 million in advertising between Republican candidates since Monday, CNN reported after the Iowa caucuses.
- Haley supporter: $37 million
- DeSantis supporters: $35 million
- Trump supporters: $18.3 million
- Other: $33.2 million
Republicans spent a total of $167.2 million in Iowa and New Hampshire to defeat Trump in the 2024 primary. Trump spent just $34.1 million.
