Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will withdraw from Wednesday’s Republican presidential primary and hand over the party’s nomination to former President Donald Trump, multiple sources claim.
Mr. Trump has pulled off one of the great political upsets in political history.
“Today is the day we’ve all been waiting for. I want to thank my family for being here. It’s a great family. I have a great family,” President Trump said Tuesday at Mar-a-Lago. told his supporters.
“It was a great night,” he added.
Haley chose not to speak publicly after only winning Vermont on Super Tuesday, but Trump had a strong night, winning 14 of 15 primary votes.
Voters say Haley is the establishment candidate in the race. A CNN exit poll of Republican voters in North Carolina found that of the 16% who supported President Joe Biden, 83% supported Haley.
Haley spent more than $114 million against Trump during the campaign to win only Vermont and Washington, D.C., according to the latest report from the Federal Election Commission (February 2). This was revealed by FEC data.
More than 75 percent of the money she raised during her campaign came from major donor Open Secret. I figured it out. Ms. Haley invested zero dollars in her campaign, but accepted donations from Democrats, including billionaire Democratic donor and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman.
“Right now, there is still a large segment of Republican primary voters in each state who are expressing deep concerns about Donald Trump,” said Haley spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas. Said In a statement. “That’s not the unity our party needs to succeed. The Republican Party and America will be better off if we address the concerns of those voters.”
