Search for Missing 19-Year-Old in Texas
Authorities in Texas are currently looking for a 19-year-old woman named Camila Mendoza Olmos, who went missing on Christmas Eve while on her usual morning walk near her home.
According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Camila was last seen leaving her residence on Caspian Springs around 6:58 a.m. on Wednesday. Her mother expressed concern when Camila did not return at the expected time, as she typically goes for a walk each morning.
Security footage captured a person, believed to be Camila, looking through a vehicle for unknown items. This footage ended after a few minutes, and it’s thought that she left the home on foot. Reports indicate that she only had her car keys and possibly her driver’s license with her at the time.
In a heartfelt statement to local media, Camila’s mother revealed that she tried calling her daughter’s cell phone, but it was turned off and left behind. “I went out searching for her, hoping to find her walking, and we could come home together,” she shared, adding a plea for her daughter’s safe return.
The search for Camila has involved her family and more than 100 volunteers who have scoured the area, bringing hope and desperation in equal measure. “It’s been really tough,” said her father, Alfonso Mendoza.
Camila is described as being around 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 110 pounds. The last known clothing she wore included a light blue and black hoodie and light blue pajama bottoms, along with white shoes.
