Nneka Ihim Shares Update Amid Hurricane Melissa

Nneka Ihim, known from “Real Housewives of Potomac,” recently shared her experience dealing with Hurricane Melissa while on vacation in Montego Bay. She posted a video on Instagram Tuesday, wearing a black crop top and shorts, despite the strong winds around her.

In her update, she addressed her followers who were curious about why she hadn’t left Jamaica yet. “When the storm was announced, we tried to leave right away,” she mentioned from her hotel balcony, “but the airport was closed.” It turns out that Jamaica had shut down the airport, not the airlines like American or Delta.

“The weather was great for two days. The sky was clear, and the water was beautiful,” Ihim stated, adding that she couldn’t quite understand why flights were halted. She expressed gratitude towards the hotel staff for being accommodating during this time.

Things may have felt tense as wind whipped around her, but she remarked that the resorts made efforts to keep guests entertained. “They played music and offered games, but honestly, being stuck here wasn’t my choice,” she said. Ihim, who was part of Season 8 from 2023 to 2024, noted that the staff worked hard to provide food and water during the storm.

Gripping her visor against the forceful winds, she indicated that she hoped to leave by Thursday, giving her followers a reason to stay tuned for more updates.

In the comments, fellow reality star Candace Dillard Bassett expressed her relief over the resort’s response and wished for Ihim’s safe return. Fans, seeing her out in unstable weather, urged her to come inside, with comments like “Nneka, please get indoors!”

Before the storm hit, Ihim shared a joyful post with her husband, Dr. Ikenna Ihim, celebrating their life together since welcoming their son, Noah, last May. “Holidaying with my honey is my new favorite hobby,” she captioned a photo of them enjoying the beach.
