No Indication of Terrorism in Baltimore Bridge Collapse, Says FBI

The Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed at around 1:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday after being struck by a container ship, but there is “no credible indication” that terrorism was involved in the bridge collapse.

The landmark building in Baltimore, US, collapsed into the Patapsco River in the aftermath, but Maryland Governor Wes Moore declared that “preliminary investigations indicate an accident”. No reliable evidence of a terrorist attack has yet been found. ”

Bill Delbagno, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Baltimore field office, agreed. saying“While the FBI is initially investigating and evaluating this matter from an investigative standpoint, we want to be clear that there is no specific or credible information to suggest a terrorist connection to this incident.”

“The FBI has been a part of this response from the beginning…We will provide every resource the FBI has to shoulder. We are already providing crisis response, victim services, and just recently, underwater search evidence recovery. A team has arrived on the scene,” Del Bagno added.

“As the investigation progresses, we will work with our partners to draw it to its logical conclusion. We ask the people of Baltimore to be patient as we work through this situation and as more information becomes available.”
