No Labels director says Nikki Haley ‘somebody we’d definitely be interested in’

Joe Cunningham, national director of the political group No Labels, said Sunday that Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is “definitely something we’re interested in” as a potential candidate on the third-party ticket in the 2024 general election. “He is a person who has it,” he said.

“We’re looking for great people who have broad appeal to independents, Democrats and Republicans. And yeah, I mean, Nikki Haley is definitely someone we’re interested in,” Cunningham said. said in an interview on FOX News’ “Fox & Friends Sunday.”

Cunningham has not announced which candidate will lead the polls, but said the group is optimistic it will have access to the ballot in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., so far. Ensuring access to voting in the state.

“The truth is, we’re talking to a lot of great people right now, but we’re not ready to announce them yet,” he said.

No Labels was founded more than a decade ago as a nonprofit organization with the goal of promoting bipartisanship and helping find common ground between the two major political parties.

But with Trump and Biden increasingly likely to be the nominees of their respective parties, the group has begun gathering signatures from voters to gain access to the independent presidential race.

“This was essentially a project to give the American people a new choice. If they’re dissatisfied with the presumptive nominee, which, you know, it looks like it’s going to be Trump vs. Biden now, we have I don’t know,” he said.

“Nikki Haley, she’s…remaining in the race. You can’t completely ignore her. And hats off to her for keeping it up and sticking with it,” he added.

Haley’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But she vowed to remain in the race, even though she had lost every presidential election so far and fell short in nearly every poll.

On Saturday, Haley lost the Republican primary in her home state of South Carolina by about 20 points, according to election results trackers at Decision Desk headquarters.
