During Miami University Pro Day, questions were studded around the idea of starting an NFL career with the Titans, allowing him to rattle down the names of all the top executives on the team. He spoke proactively about Tennessee's training facilities, revealing that the Nashville hot chicken he ate during his visit was a little too hot for his taste.
Ward also talked about some football as he had spoken with Titans head coach Brian Callahan on several occasions on a lead up to the NFL draft. Ward said he was already thinking about what he would be asked to do in the Titans attack.
“I think Coach Callahan is one of the best head coaches out there,” Ward said Monday after training at the Miami campus of the Coral Gables, Florida.
Is this actually the case? As a young and rather inexperienced offensive coordinator in Bengal, did Callahan really have a major impact on Barrow's development into one of the top NFL quarterbacks? Are either these offensive masterminds or quarterback gurus (by the way, two overused terms) actually invaluable when it comes to turning university outlooks into authentic NFL stars?
