Concerns Over Trump’s Relationship with Israel
Israeli Ambassador Mike Huckabee expressed some concerns regarding the relationship between President Donald Trump and Israel as he seeks an agreement with Arab nations and Iran.
Huckabee stated in various Israeli television interviews that the bond between the U.S. and Israel remains strong, despite claims of tension between Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
When asked about Trump’s decision to skip Israel during his upcoming Middle East trip—which includes visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE—Huckabee insisted that this does not indicate a decline in U.S.-Israel relations.
“I tell people to relax and remain calm. Donald Trump loves you,” Huckabee remarked. “He’s the same Donald Trump who has done more for Israel in four years than any other president.”
Meanwhile, Israelis are concerned about unilateral actions against Iran, especially following a separate ceasefire with the Iranian-backed Houthis and ongoing negotiations for a nuclear deal with the Iranian government.
