Noah Kahan Addresses Concert Bathroom Etiquette
Singer Noah Kahan is making a light-hearted yet crucial plea to concertgoers: “Please go to the bathroom when nature calls.”
This request follows a viral video from his concert at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on June 26, where a participant was allegedly seen defecating during the performance.
TMZ reported that Kahan felt compelled to comment on this peculiar incident after footage surfaced, allegedly showing waste left near a seat. “If you have to poop at a show, God, just go to the bathroom, LOL,” he posted on X.
Kahan humorously reflected on the incident, saying, “I pooped my pants as much as the next 29-year-old.” However, he reminded fans that there are venue staff who can easily see whatever occurs in the crowd.
Adding a personal touch, Kahan shared a past experience of having an on-stage mishap during a performance in Charlottesville, joking that his commitment to his art led to that accident.
During a later concert in Toronto, Kahan reiterated this message to fans, asking them to humorously promise to avoid such incidents. He mentioned that entering the venue is a kind of social contract, emphasizing the importance of decorum, like not sitting on the floor during the show.
The audience then joined in a mock oath: “I solemnly swear that I will not take off my pants. If I did, I would not take them off and leave them on the floor.”
This situation underscores a strange trend at live performances, where some attendees seem hesitant to take bathroom breaks. For instance, pop star Olivia Rodrigo recently noted encountering someone wearing a diaper to avoid leaving their spot during her concert.
While Kahan approaches this topic with humor, his underlying message is clear: restrooms are available for a reason, and it would be appreciated if individuals took advantage of them rather than risking bizarre incidents at concerts.
