Atlantic Ocean Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg reported Monday that he was added to the group chat on March 13, two days after National Security Advisor Mike Waltz requested that he be added as a signaling app contact.
The group chat was intended to coordinate the heads of various government agencies regarding President Donald Trump's decision to attack the Hooty rebels in Yemen, which had been targeting US ships in the Red Sea since October 7, 2023.
Goldberg claimed that Hegses was “text” on the morning of the strike on March 15th [him] War Plan At 11:44am, the plan included accurate information on weapon packaging, targets and timing. ”
Goldberg wrote that Hegseth posted “information about targets, weapons deployed by the US, and attack sequences, and more details on future strike operations in Yemen.”
He did not cite Hegseth, but argued that if Hegseth shared it, “if read by US enemies, it could be used to injure American military and intelligence agents, especially in the area of responsibility of Central Command, the broader Middle East.”
Hegseth also said of Goldberg:
“This is a guy pedaling with trash, this is what he does,” added Heggs.
He also praised the president for raiding the troops and ordering strikes against them.
“Because of the skills and courage of our army, I would like to comment on the Houthi campaign. I monitored very closely from the start… our troops, our sailors, were being shot as targets. Houthis, “This is exactly what we're doing.”
