Noem comments on her depiction in 'South Park': 'It's so lazy'

Homeland Security Secretary Christy Noem recently criticized Comedy Central’s “South Park,” labeling it as part of a broader trend of mocking women for their looks and perceived laziness.

This statement came during her appearance on Glenn Beck’s show, where she mentioned she hadn’t seen the episode titled “Got a Nut,” indicating she’s more focused on budget issues. “But you know, I think… it’s never quite finished. It feels very lazy to constantly make fun of women about their appearance. Only liberals and extremists seem to do that,” Noem remarked. “If they want to critique my work, fine, but it’s clear they can’t, so they resort to this.”

It’s worth noting that “South Park” has taken jabs at Trump and his administration since the latest season began, which coincides with a billion-dollar deal involving the show and Paramount. This acquisition was finalized by Skydance and Paramount.

In one of the latest episodes, the show pokes fun at President Trump, Vice President Pence, and Noem while depicting an immigration operation carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The episode revolves around a character named McKee, who loses his job at an elementary school and subsequently joins ICE. During a new employee orientation, he watches a video where Noem, portrayed with heavy makeup and hair extensions, appears with various dogs, suggesting a violent backdrop.

Noem’s animated portrayal features characters with melting faces that occasionally seem to slip off their heads. The show even referenced an incident from last year, highlighting a moment where Noem euthanized a pet, an event she documented in her book.

In the “South Park” episode, Noem is depicted leading an immigration raid at a live concert for “Dora the Explorer,” followed by another raid in heaven, instructing agents to “only hold the brown ones.”

Her involvement in ICE operations has drawn criticism, even from some conservative commentators like Megyn Kelly. While Kelly previously praised Noem’s performance as DHS secretary, she suggested that the photo opportunities should be minimized. “Why does she need to keep doing this? She’s great at her job. In my opinion, her actual work as DHS secretary is impressive. Just stop trying to glamorize the role; you’re not playing a character here,” Kelly stated at the time, expressing frustration with the staged appearances.
