South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem (R) said former President Trump should not have chosen fellow Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley as his running mate.
Noem was asked by Newsmax's Eric Bolling whether Trump made a mistake in choosing Haley as his running mate. She answered “Yes” without hesitation.
“But if he chose her, I would say no to him. But I would support the ticket because he is still the president and the president still makes decisions. ” Noem said Tuesday.
She previously said she would be President Trump's running mate “soon.” The former president said in September that while she likes the “concept” of a female vice president, she hasn't given much thought to who she would choose.
Noem is among a group of rumored candidates, including Haley, who has been in direct conflict with Trump's campaign.
“And, you know, I've had a lot of disagreements with Nikki Haley over the years, but you never know which Nikki Haley is going to show up every day,” Noem said. Highlighted by Mediaite. “She becomes a different person depending on what serves her political purpose.”
“So what I love about President Trump, or what the American people love about President Trump, is that he's just himself, he's just authentic,” Noem continued. “He's a regular guy who speaks the truth and stands up and fights for people every day. He has no reason for doing this job other than the fact that he truly believes in America. , wants them to be able to get up and go to work every day. He wants to put them first.”
Noem is not running for president in 2024, but she has a strong public presence, appearing frequently on cable TV and placing an ad on Fox News ahead of the first Republican presidential debate. maintains the feeling.
Trump is the front-runner for the Republican nomination, but he has not announced who his running mate will be.
