South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R), amid speculation that she is a front-runner to be former President Trump’s 2024 running mate, spoke out as governor in remarks at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). boasted of his achievements.
“We need to look outside the swamp for leaders,” Noem said at CPAC.
“No one is looking to D.C. for solutions. Nothing meaningful will be accomplished here. It was the governors who had to take the leadership, and I think they got it wrong. I’ve seen decisions that have destroyed states, and I’ve seen governors who have done the right thing,” Noem said.
Noem’s defiance of mandates during the COVID-19 pandemic, banning of TikTok and recent moves to send the National Guard from the state to the southern border, which she calls a “war zone,” He promoted his leadership in the Mount Rushmore state.
“For me personally, I stepped on the gas pedal. I promoted freedom, personal responsibility, and the Constitution.”
Earlier this month, President Trump did not mention Noem by name when asked about his 2024 running mate, but this week he announced that she is one of six people on his shortlist. admitted that.
