In the end, Nolan Arenado appears to be staying in St. Louis.
After months of trade rumours surrounding the All-Star Tribase hands, John Mozeliac, president of the baseball business cardinal, announced Thursday that Arenado will be with the team and “probably” team on the first day I did.
“The way we think now is that he's likely to be part of our club at this point,” Mozeliac told reporters, “I definitely feel that I feel that I am feeling.”[s] That means Arenado will be in the hot corner when he starts the season on March 27th.
Just a day ago, Mozeliac left the door open to handle Arenado.
“Is there any chance that something could happen next week? Perhaps. Can this be camping? Probably,” Mozeliac said Wednesday. “So I don't have a definitive answer. It takes patience.”
Arenado, who has a no-trade clause, was mostly dealt with the Astros in December before he made a trade.
On Wednesday, MLB.com's John Denton reported that Mozeliak was limited to trying to trade with Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Padres and Angels.

That list included the Dodgers, Padres, Angels, Philly, Mets and Red Sox in December.
Mozeliak's comments come the day after Alex Bregman, the biggest name in the 3 base market, left the board when he signed a three-year, $120 million contract with the Red Sox.
Arenado, the 10-time Gold Glove winner who turned 34 in April, reached .272/.325/.394 with 16 home runs for the Cardinals in 2024.
He had three seasons left in an eight-year, $260 million deal he signed with the Rockies in 2019.
