Mingus Reedus, the son of actor Norman Reedus, has been arrested for assault. Reports indicate that Mingus was taken into custody on Saturday due to alleged domestic violence following a call about a woman who had consumed a large amount of medication and made threats of suicide at her Manhattan residence.
According to police sources, Mingus is accused of striking the female victim on her legs, causing bruising, as well as suffocating her and forcefully pushing her to the ground.
Another source revealed that he has been officially charged with third-degree assault and additional related offenses.
Page Six reached out to Norman for his input on the situation, but did not receive an immediate response.
Mingus is the child of Norman and Danish model Helena Christensen, who began dating in 1998 and split in 2003 after five years together.
Since starting his modeling career in 2017, Mingus has worked with various prestigious brands, including Calvin Klein and Versace. He has recently participated in several fashion campaigns alongside his mother, which included the 2021 Victoria’s Secret Mother’s Day collection and the 2022 Marcel von Berlin suit line.
In an interview with Grazia Magazine, Christensen shared her enjoyment of collaborating with Mingus, stating, “We have a lot of fun together sharing little jokes between us all day.” She expressed that their unique rapport allows them to explore dark humor on set, emphasizing the joy of their creative process.
While Mingus appreciates the opportunities in modeling, he is primarily focused on his passions for music and film studies. Norman Reedus also has a daughter named Nova with German actress Diane Kruger.
