North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein (Democrat) and candidate for governor, said in an interview Sunday that candidates should be held accountable for continuing to support his opponent, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson (R) after CNN's shocking report last Thursday.
“Robinson is there because Donald Trump has been promoting him all this time. The candidates in North Carolina have to take responsibility for supporting Mark Robinson and being involved in his campaign as a whole,” Stein said on CNN's Jake Tapper's “State of the Union” when asked how she felt about Robinson's absence from former President Trump's rally in North Carolina on Saturday.
“People have supported him and now it seems they want to run away from him. But they've stood up. Mark Robinson would not exist without the support of Donald Trump,” Stein continued.
CNN published a shocking report about Robinson on Thursday, revealing that more than a decade ago he had made a wide range of inflammatory comments on a pornography message board, including calling himself a “black Nazi” and calling for the reinstatement of slavery.
The media reported that Robinson made the comments on a website called “Nude Africa” between 2008 and 2012, before he began his political career.
Robinson said he would continue his campaign despite concerns about the viability of his candidacy. Claimed in the video Shortly before the article was published, Robinson posted on social platform X that Stein's campaign had leaked the information to CNN, a detail he claimed was false.

“Mr. Robinson is totally unfit and unfit to serve as Governor of North Carolina, and we will do everything in our power to prevent that from happening,” Stein said Sunday.
