Palestinian Immigrant Convicted in Murder-for-Hire Case
A federal jury in North Carolina has convicted a Palestinian immigrant of orchestrating the murders of three individuals through fellow inmates. This comes after he previously pleaded guilty to attempts on others’ lives, as announced by authorities on Friday.
The Department of Justice reported that Naro Sdoi Inab, 70, from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, was found guilty on three counts related to making interstate phone calls in a murder-for-hire scheme.
“This Palestinian immigrant came here to enjoy the American Dream, but he repeatedly tried to hire thugs to kill those he considered enemies,” said Ellis Boyle, the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
While awaiting sentencing for another murder-for-hire plot, Inab allegedly attempted to pay inmates $10,000 to kill three men who were small business owners in Rocky Mount. His plans came to light when a cooperating inmate reported the scheme to the FBI and recorded conversations related to it.
James C. Barnacle Jr., an FBI Special Agent in Charge, commented that, “Even after being indicted, arrested, and pleading guilty to a murder-for-hire scheme, Naro Enab continued his dangerous activities.” He also noted that collaborative law enforcement efforts managed to prevent multiple murder attempts, emphasizing that Inab would spend many years incarcerated.
Inab now faces the possibility of a 30-year prison sentence for these new charges.
