The teenager heading to the North Carolina prom was killed in a car accident on Saturday after he decided on the last minute last place he wanted to go to the event.

North Carolina Highway Patrol said Turner got off the road and hit two trees in Stokes County while he was driving a Taurus in Ford. He was declared dead at the scene of the crash, they added.

Turner’s grandmother, Bonnie Roberts, said the teenager found a rock read as “I’m Ready” a few hours before the crash.
“Yesterday, before the accident, William Turner discovered that one of those rocks would leave and he could post a photo on FB. If you’re approaching what Yohl is saying on the rock. I say I’m ready! I think God was informing him that he was coming to heaven to bring him home. God might have been ready. “We love and miss you so much.”
Turner’s foster mother, Tina Lawson, said he was “the sweetest and most loving child you’ve ever met.” Fox 8 reported.
