Norwegian will discontinue drink packages at Great Stirrup Cay in March 2026

Norwegian Cruise Line is updating its beverage packages for its private islands. According to a spokesperson, starting March 1, 2026, drinks at Great Stirrup Cay will not be included in the standard beverage package. This change is a part of efforts to enhance the experience on the island.

A new, separate beverage package designed specifically for Great Stirrup Cay will be available for booking from January 1. The company assured that complimentary options like water, juice, and iced tea will still be readily accessible throughout the island.

The spokesperson also noted that guests can use their keycard to purchase beverages while on land, and all beverage package benefits will resume once they return to the ship. The Reddit community has mixed feelings about this news, with one user stating, “Drink packages are disabled at GSC as of March 1, 2026.” Others expressed disappointment and concern over the implications of this change.

Some cruise fans shared their thoughts, with reactions ranging from reluctance to voice their opinions until more details are available to outright disappointment. One user humorously remarked about feeling fortunate to have taken their honeymoon cruise earlier.

As for pricing, the spokesperson revealed that beverage packages will vary between $23 and $30 per person per day, depending on the cruise length. While the concept of beverage packages remains popular among cruisers for the freedom it offers, industry experts recognize that there’s no universal solution for everyone’s needs.
