Not even 2% of NYC migrants want tickets out of town

Illegal immigrants in New York want to stay here.

In the latest grim news from the front lines of the crisis, the vast majority of immigrants admitted to the city’s overtaxed shelter system simply continue to remain there after the first 30 days, leaving them as adults. Less than 2% of immigrants said yes. Taxpayer-funded tickets elsewhere (based on numbers from the city’s East Village Shelter Reentry Center).

In other words, the city’s longstanding policy of handing out travel vouchers in the hope that people will find better conditions elsewhere has had little effect.

Of the 1,600 asylum seekers who visited the East Village reception center after their 30-day shelter stay expired, an average of 2% accepted a free plane or bus ticket, the report said.

Yes, every little bit helps. Even if he is less than 2%, it means that the huge pressure exerted by the state will be partially relieved. More than 175,000 arrivals, tsunami set to hit city 10 billion by next fiscal year.

However, the fact that more than 98% of immigrants do not proceed without accepting the offer of a free ride shows that free bus and plane tickets have traditionally been the only means of crisis management, and in this case, It is clear that this was hardly done.

This is further evidence that this is a national crisis. Local and even state solutions, no matter how generous, do not address the root of the problem.

Moreover, New York City’s tolerance for these immigrants is almost pathological, thanks to open-borders progressives who have significant influence in city government (gray market job opportunities in app distribution are plentiful). (which, along with this, no doubt partially explains his eagerness to remain in New York).

No: As long as President Biden pursues policies that deny border security, illegal immigrants will continue to flood inland.

The budgets of major cities far from the border, such as New York, will be severely strained.

And the pain and confusion never ends.
