“Not everyone who voted for President-elect Donald Trump was a racist and a misogynist,” Sarah Haines co-hosted on ABC's “The View” on Friday. .
A partial transcription follows:
Haynes: We need to be introspective. If we voted for Kamala Harris, we need to say what didn't resonate with voters. You know what didn't resonate with voters when they claimed we weren't safe and that the left was focused on defunding the police and bail reform. When we were focused on changing the school's name, some people said, “Hey, students are destroying the university. Students are destroying the university. Students are destroying the university.” . I paid for it. I sent them there. they can't learn. And everyone apologized for it and didn't want anything to do with it. They also denied that the border was a crisis and kept saying, “No, no, no, it's okay.”
Joy Behar: But there was a border bill! There was a border bill!
Haynes: Joy, what I'm saying is, they kept screaming, screaming, screaming. They didn't vote for him because he's a racist or a misogynist. They voted because they needed help with their daily lives.
Behar: How do you know that!
Haynes: Because library statistics are coming out that people who are trying to self-reflect are showing these–
Behar: Oh, wait, the exit polls will say I'm a racist and a misogynist. Who would say that?
Haines: All the racists who voted for Donald Trump. Not everyone who voted for Donald Trump was a racist or misogynist. They dominated every category. And the reason they did that was to say, “Hey, guys, I'm not going to make excuses.” This time they lost everything.
