‘Not the Question I Asked You’: Australian Reporter Presses Kamala Harris Like Shrimp on the Grill

Criticism of Kamala Harris on Biden’s Health Question

Reporter Sarah Ferguson from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation has spoken out against former Vice President Kamala Harris for evading a question regarding former President Joe Biden’s health in a recent interview.

During her media tour for her book “107 Days,” Harris faced inquiries about Biden’s health and the potential impact on his 2024 presidential campaign. Ferguson pressed her on whether Biden’s refusal to acknowledge any “weaknesses” could be detrimental to his reelection efforts. Harris deflected, recalling her 2020 presidential campaign against Donald Trump and discussing his misleading platform rather than addressing Biden’s situation directly.

Ferguson interjected, stating, “I want to cut in here because this is an important topic, but my question wasn’t about your campaign experience; it was about Joe Biden’s health. Are you hesitant to criticize him?” Harris replied, claiming that Biden had “not been vulnerable as president.”

Ferguson pointed out Biden’s struggles during a CNN debate against Trump on June 27, 2024, where he appeared to freeze, lose focus, and make several mistakes. She then remarked, “We all observed his weaknesses during those debates,” stressing her own belief in Biden’s capability to lead while expressing concerns about his resilience in the face of the 2024 election’s demands.

Harris acknowledged Ferguson’s points, mentioning that she had addressed these issues in her book, explaining that her discussions included the context of Biden’s travel schedule and the pressures he faced. “I’m not avoiding the topic; that’s why I included it in the book,” she asserted.

The Wall Street Journal published pieces discussing Biden’s mental decline prior to his announcement on July 21, 2024, that he wouldn’t run for re-election. These reports received backlash from various media and Democratic sources, despite confirmations from multiple outlets.

Later, it was revealed that Biden had become increasingly “isolated” from his Cabinet as his health continued to worsen. In May, he disclosed being diagnosed with an aggressive stage of prostate cancer that had metastasized to his bones, a condition generally associated with a low five-year survival rate.
