Notable Democrats and celebrities come together for the private funeral of JFK's granddaughter.

Former President Joe Biden and former Democratic candidate John Kerry were part of a large gathering of notable figures at the private funeral of Tatiana Schlossberg, held on Monday at St. Ignatius of Loyola Church in New York City.

Schlossberg, who was an environmental journalist and the granddaughter of former President John F. Kennedy, passed away at 35 after a significant battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

The funeral took place at a Jesuit Catholic church in Manhattan’s Upper East Side and was limited to invite-only attendees.

Biden and his wife, former first lady Jill Biden, were seen leaving the church after the service, as captured by Fox News Digital.

Kerry, a veteran Democratic senator from Massachusetts and former secretary of state, was also spotted outside the church. He currently serves as President Biden’s special envoy for climate change.

Other prominent Democrats attending included political strategist David Axelrod, Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey, and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Among the celebrities present were media figures like David Letterman, The New Yorker editor David Remnick, fashion designer Carolina Herrera, and jazz-pop artist Jon Batiste. Late-night host Seth Meyers was also photographed exiting the church.

Raised in New York City, Schlossberg earned her bachelor’s degree in history from Yale and a master’s in American history from Oxford, focusing on climate advocacy throughout her career.

In 2024, she was diagnosed with leukemia, an experience she shared in a poignant essay for The New Yorker in November 2025.

Schlossberg mentioned that while in the hospital after giving birth to her second child, doctors discovered her illness when her white blood cell counts appeared unusual.

In her reflections, she expressed concern for her children, contemplating how they might not remember her clearly as they grow up.

Her family—husband George Moran, mother, father Edwin Schlossberg, sister Rose Schlossberg, and cousin Joe Kennedy III—were also seen leaving the church. Interestingly, her uncle, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (former Secretary of Health and Human Services under Donald Trump), was not present outside.
