Notice the glaring omissions in demand from far-left Democrats for Biden to push Israel into ceasefire

The Progressive Democratic Party, which calls for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, faced a backlash Monday over glaring omissions in the resolution.

A group of 13 far-left House Democrats led by Rep. Cori Bush (D-Missouri). introduced a resolution It called for “immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Israel and occupied Palestine.”

Justifying its demands, the resolution states that “every human life is precious and the targeting of civilians, regardless of their faith or ethnicity, is a violation of international humanitarian law” and that “from October 7, 2023, Through the 16th, armed violence claimed the lives of more than 2,700 Palestinians and 1,400 Israelis, including Americans, and injured thousands more.

There are serious problems with the solution.

First, the Israeli military is targeting Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip, not civilians. Only Hamas terrorists targeted civilians.

Second, resolutions speak using passive language. Did “armed violence” take the lives of 1,400 Israelis? No, Hamas terrorists invaded Israel and brutally murdered innocent people, including babies.

Third, nowhere in the resolution is there any mention of Hamas or terrorism, nor is there any mention that the only reason Israel is conducting military operations against Gaza is because of Hamas. de facto The Gaza Strip government attacked Israel first.

Finally, and most importantly, the resolution does not mention the hundreds of hostages who remain imprisoned by Hamas.

A lively discussion of the resolution took place on social media, highlighting many of its problems.

  • “Did the sponsors of this resolution ask Hamas to release the people it abducted? Ask Hamas to relinquish power so that non-terrorist organizations can actually work to improve the lives of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Did you ask? I know the answer to these questions,” says Ari Cohen, a professor at the University of Nebraska. Said.
  • “When they morally equate mass murder, rape, torturing children, kidnapping old people, and those who try to stop it, they are asking you to renounce your humanity. Such shameful words come from The Squad, and no one would ever do such a thing.” I will spare no words for the hostages.” Newsweek Editor-in-Chief Batia Unger-Sargon Said.
  • “Sorry, but I guess I’m blind. Where’s the part that condemns Hamas for slaughtering babies or demands the release of tortured hostages?” Rep. Anna Paulina Luna ( (Republican, Florida) answered.
  • “After all that you have done, why don’t you demand that Hamas release the hostages? You are not serious and unless you demand that all the hostages be released now and that Hamas de-escalates the hostages, human lives will be lost.” I don’t care,” said conservative commentator Dana Roesch. Said.
  • “There can’t be a ceasefire. There can be a ceasefire when Hamas is dead,” said Senator Tim Scott (RS.C.). Said.
  • ”[Y]Under current law, the perpetrator Hamas and the defender Israel are on equal footing, so your proposal is not about saving lives, but about “doing everything possible” to save Hamas. I guess it’s something like this. “Mr. Hussein Abdul Hussein of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies Said.
  • “Please note that this resolution of the Congressional Hamas Caucus does not mention a single word about hostages, including Americans, being held in Gaza,” said another official. highlighted.

The White House does not support their ceasefire call, but instead has criticized progressive DemocratsRhetoric about this situation.
