Cynics that believe in revenue and overheads and boring, financially-sensible things like that would say that both Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town need a run deep into the FA Cup like a hole in the head. But there’s Champions League qualification/Premier League survival to fight for, one might hear a chief executive shout, somewhere.

Those that believe in glory and winning-at-all-costs and silverware and making trophy-starved fans happy might beg to differ. Margaret Thatcher was still prime minister when Nottingham Forest last won a major trophy (the 1990 League Cup) 35 years ago. Ipswich haven’t won a thing since 1992, the Football League Second Division title, and not a major trophy since the 1980–81 Uefa Cup.

Even with the league season approaching the home straight, an FA Cup quarter-final tie against Brighton remains a tantalising prize for the victor of tonight’s last-16 tie, and this is a winnable game for both teams, although Forest are of course the favourites.

What’s more, with so many so-called bigger clubs already eliminated from this season’s competition, winning the whole damn thing – the FA Cup, just imagine! – is a realistic and overwhelming prospect!

Let’s hope both sides go for it.

Kieran McKennaIpswichtown, talk to the camera.

Several changes. Many of the boys did well in the final round with Coventry. Away the palace [on Saturday] There are really big and competitive teams. We chose tonight who thinks we'll compete with the strong forest side.

There are only nine teams left. Everyone sees this as an opportunity. We know who is next in the draw [Brighton].

Another email, This time it's Andrew Goody.

“Looking at the teams remaining in this year's competition reminded me of JL Carr's outstanding book, “How Sinderby Wanderlers Wins the FA Cup.” If you haven't read it, you have a treat in the store. Certainly, are there any soccer-related novels? ”

I would argue that Steve Bruce's striker will have some heartbeats, but I have not read the Steve Cinderby Wanderers epic, so who do I judge? However, in the last 5 minutes, I have it I'm reading this article in another book by JL Carr, so I can at least guarantee this article.

“A lovely aerial view of Craf Arenathank you, and isn't it great to see so many top-level sports within walking distance? “Note Jeremy Boyce, by email. “As a former Orrsman/rower, I have to point out that I completely overlook the pier/pontoon between Nottingham Rowing Club Boatus and the city ground and the Trent Bridge itself. Trent is a top-level rowing greenhouse and not far from the National Rowing Center in Holmpia Reponto. I think our rowing player deserves a mention as he has consistently won the World Championships, Olympics and more, unlike our footballers. Tonight's interesting match, the recently promoted side, suffers from the recently promoted side and checking the big reality. I think they take it seriously, a chance of glory, a chance of saving. It was 2-1 to Ipswich, but was demoted in the same way.”

Great email, thank you, Jeremy! I was totally ignorant of the reputation of rowgi torrents. Although I have to disagree with your predictions. It's difficult to see the past forests tonight, especially with those lineups.

I'll be requiringour correspondent at City Ground tonight has been in touch with us by saying that England manager Thomas Touchel is definitely notified to be present tonight (his first game is within three weeks). The bad news about Tuchel is that Morgan Gibbs-White and Liam Delap are on their respective benches.

Did Alex Palmer end up making his way into Tohel's third choice keeper? Given his recent performance, he certainly has an outside chance.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is probably the only person who can build a team, but you may remember him and TT fell to Chelsea.

I have Nottingham ForestChris Wood and Morgan Gibbs White aside, it was named the Strong Side. Ipswich clearly (and sadly) hasn't prioritized his trip to Crystal Palace with manager Kieran McKenna.

preamble

A cynician who believes in income and overhead, and believes in such boring and financially sensitiveness, would say that both the Forest of Nottingham and the town of Ipswich need to run deep into the FA Cup like a hole in the head. But Champions League Qualifier/Premier League Survival may hear the CEO scream somewhere.

Those who believe in glory and all costs and silverware and make trophy-hungered fans happy, would recommend something different. Margaret Thatcher was still prime minister when Nottingham Forest last won the major trophy (1990 League Cup) 35 years ago. Ipswich has been the second division title of the Football League since 1992 and not the major trophy since the 1980-81 UEFA Cup.

Even if the league season is closer to home straights, the FA Cup quarter-final tie against Brighton remains an appetizing award for the final 16 tie winner of tonight. This is a game that's easy to win for both teams, but of course Forest is my favorite.

Plus, many so-called big clubs have already been eliminated from the competition this season, earning the whole damn damn thing. – A realistic and overwhelming outlook!

I hope both parties go for it.
