MELBOURNE, Australia — Jannik Sinner upset Novak Djokovic to reach the Australian Open men's final, ending the champion's career undefeated streak at 10 in the semifinals at Melbourne Park.
The 22-year-old Italian broke Djokovic's serve twice in each of the first two sets, but won the third set 6-1, 6-2, 6-7(6), 6-3 on Friday. I missed a match point. It was his first time reaching a Grand Slam final.
He will face third-seeded Daniil Medvedev or sixth-seeded Alexander Zverev for the championship on Sunday.
Djokovic will have to wait if he wants to win a record-extending 11th Australian Open and 25th major title.

He hasn't lost a match at Melbourne Park since 2018 and was on a 33-game winning streak in the season's first major.
Previously, Djokovic had won the hard court title whenever he won the quarterfinals in Australia.
