Nuggets and Timberwolves matchup forecast: NBA Playoffs selections, odds, and propositions

Ayo Dosunmu Steps Up for Timberwolves

Ayo Dosunmu is taking center stage in the Minnesota Timberwolves’ backcourt. The former Bulls guard has become crucial for a team struggling with injuries, especially as they gear up to face the Nuggets at Target Center on Thursday night.

With Donte DiVincenzo and Anthony Edwards sidelined due to injuries in Game 4, Dosunmu has been more involved in the offense. He had a remarkable night, scoring a career-high 43 points off the bench, helping the Timberwolves secure a win despite DiVincenzo tearing his Achilles minutes into the game and Edwards hyperextending his knee right before halftime.

Some might brush off that performance as a one-off, but Dosunmu proved his worth again on Monday. He scored 18 points, shooting 7-of-14, and logged an impressive 42 minutes, more than any other player on the team.

Before getting injured in Game 3, he had another strong outing, chipping in 25 points. Since mid-March, after his trade from Chicago, he has been a scoring asset for Minnesota, averaging 18.3 points in the last 11 games of the regular season.

Now, as a starter, Dosunmu is one of the few reliable options for generating offense. The Timberwolves are counting on him to continue being aggressive, both as a scorer and a playmaker.

Minnesota is facing pressure to avoid a Game 7 in Denver, making Dosunmu’s role even more critical. It appears he’s set to maintain his offensive momentum, perhaps looking to score at least 18 points again, which, considering the current situation, feels likely.
