The registered nurse was arrested and accused of exacerbating the murder after convincing patients that they had terminal cancer and injecting fatal insulin in order to collect a victim's $1.5 million life insurance policy.
Megan Randall Sandwall, 47, was arrested Thursday in connection with the death of 38-year-old Casey Lynn Terry, according to court documents. Retrieved by Fox 13 News.
The arrest came from an investigation on August 12, 2024, when police were called to their Highlands, Utah home and found Terry not responding.

Caller Terry's uncle Mark Farnsworth reported that he discovered his nie was unconscious and struggling to breathe as if she was drowning, adding that he had “a major major health issue.”
Police found a sandwall alone in the bedroom with Terry, whom she claimed had been in that state for “a few hours.”
Sandwall then told officers that the victim, who was allegedly suffered from terminal cancer for the past four to five years, signed an order to resuscitation and did not want to go to the hospital.

The report said paramedics had discovered a diabetic needle, but investigators learned that Terry was not diabetic. When she was taken to Mountain Point Hospital in Lehigh, paramedics discovered Terry's blood sugar level was below 40 at age 14.
While Terry was being treated in the ICU, the outlet reported that her sister informed doctors that Terry has had terminal cancer for the past four to five years. However, Terry's primary care doctor said his family never had cancer. The autopsy also confirms the doctor's findings and reveals that Terry has never had cancer or other major health issues.
Terry was declared brain damage by a doctor, and died on August 15, 2024, almost three days after the first 911 call, the outlet reported.

The investigation also determined that there was never a do-reverse sut order in Terry's name, and that there was no document designating Sandwall as a power of attorney for the victim.
Terry's family told investigators he suspected Sunwall had been trying to kill Terry for years. The detective even had evidence on the victim's phone in December 2019, showing a thread of text that fitted the family's suspicions.
Detectives said that over 28,000 texts between the two women showed that Sunwall would “help” her death if she was Terry for four years, and even informed her that Terry's death offered to discuss how she would resolve all her money problems.
After Terry's death, Sundwall reportedly deleted more than 900 texts from his mobile phone and searched for his life insurance policy.
