Nutritional renaissance: Better soil, better food, better health

America faces an epidemic of chronic diseases caused by diets rich in sugary, ultra-processed foods and lacking in real, nutritious ingredients. It costs us money, shortens our life expectancy, and deprives us of the ability to enjoy life to the fullest. But there is hope, and it comes in the form of a bold vision to Make America Healthy Again.

The MAHA movement, championed by leaders like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the dynamic duo of Dr. Casey Means and his brother Curry, is redefining the way we think about food, health, and the future of our country. It's not just about personal responsibility and food choices, it's about promoting a food system that nourishes rather than harms Americans.

The MAHA movement can change our country, but only if we all work together. Farmers, food producers, policy makers and consumers alike need to demand better.

On November 5th, Americans overwhelmingly voted in favor of Donald Trump's vision to “Make America Great Again.” To fully embrace MAGA, our country needs to experience a nutritional renaissance. That's why MAHA is an important part of MAGA's agenda.

RFK Jr. — the visionary President Trump tapped to lead the Department of Health and Human Services — has been outspoken about the harmful effects of high-sugar and ultra-processed foods, linking them to chronic diseases ranging from obesity and diabetes to chronic diseases. It is associated with disease. Autoimmune disease.

His call to action is clear. We must demand better. Better food. Your health will improve. Have a better life.

I have always believed that proper nutrition is the key to good health. When I started Papa John's, “Better Ingredients.'' “Better Pizza'' wasn't just a slogan, it was a commitment we took seriously every day.

That's why we spent $100 million annually In order to fulfill our pledge to provide the highest quality ingredients, and to help our customers see exactly what ingredients are in our products and which ingredients we use, we provide a web page. has been launched. locked outartificial flavors, synthetic colors, high fructose corn syrup, preservatives like BHA and BHT, MSG, and partially hydrogenated oils. (Unfortunately, since I left, the company has changed the recipe and made the ingredients cheaper.)

That's why I started Papa Farms, a regenerative agriculture project on my land in Louisville, Kentucky. At Papa Farms, we're literally starting from scratch to build a healthier future.

We focus on cultivating the most nutritious and healthy soil possible, using only local ingredients to foster a microbially rich 'food web'. This is more than just farming. It is a holistic approach to restoring the natural balance of our food system. Healthy soils are not only the foundation for nutritious agricultural products, they are also the way to reverse the chronic disease epidemic in America.

The results at Papa Farms were impressive. The produce we grow (flavorful tomatoes, bright leafy greens, dessert-sweet berries) is higher quality than what's sold at most organic grocery stores. We have proven that produce grown in nutrient-rich soil is rich in the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants our bodies need to stay healthy.

Casey and Carrie Means have played a pivotal role in highlighting the relationship between what we eat and how we feel. They showed that the path to good health starts with the tableware, but it doesn't end there. The fight for improved nutrition is also a fight against a system that prioritizes profits over people, subsidies over sustainability, and convenience over care. Their work aligns perfectly with Papa Farms' mission to show that real change is possible when we focus on the basics.

At Papa Farms, we don't just grow food. We are growing a movement. We are proving that regenerative agriculture can not only produce better food, but a better future. This is a long-term solution to the chronic disease epidemic, one rooted in science, sustainability, and common sense.

I believe that under President Trump's leadership, the MAHA movement can transform our country, but only if we all work together. Farmers, food producers, policy makers and consumers alike need to demand better. Better soil. Better food. Your health will improve.

Each of us can make choices every day that contribute to achieving this goal. Support local farmers. Make informed choices at the grocery store. Tell Congress to stop subsidizing products and crops that weaponize our food supply and thereby undermine our health.

Together, we can build a food system that nourishes our bodies and our nation. We can make America healthy again. Let the renaissance begin.
