Nvidia Could Invest Hundreds of Billions in America

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said Wednesday that chip manufacturers could invest hundreds of millions of dollars in the US.

“I think it's easy to see that we're making hundreds of billions here in the US,” Huang I said Financial Times. He added that the Trump administration can help boost the expansion of the American artificial intelligence (AI) industry.

Nvidia's CEO said Nvidia could manufacture the latest American chip systems through Taiwanese suppliers such as TSMC and Foxconn, but the company faced increasingly steep competition with Chinese telecommunications company Huawei.

“TSMC investment in the US provides a significant step up to supply chain resilience,” he explained.

Earlier on Wednesday, fans told analysts at the company's developer meeting in California that 3.6 million Blackwell chip orders from four major cloud companies underestimated overall demand as they ruled out small cloud providers and startups on the metaplatform.

Trump's first American policy is trying to boost domestic manufacturing.

TSMC announced in early March that chip manufacturers would invest at least $100 billion to build “state-of-the-art” manufacturing facilities.

New investments from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co are made in addition to existing commitments and will proceed to “Building Five State-of-the-art Manufacturing Facilities.”

He added that much of the funds will be invested in Arizona, the US. There, TSMC, the world's largest chipmaker, has already invested heavily, creating “thousands” of well-paid jobs.

“We plan to produce many chips to support AI progress and smartphone progress,” Taiwan Prime Minister Chung Tai said.
