Nvidia Reaches $4 Trillion Market Cap

Nvidia has reportedly become the first company to achieve a market capitalization of $4 trillion. This milestone was reached after the company’s stock increased by over 2% during intraday trading on Wednesday.

As a result, Nvidia has overtaken major players like Microsoft and Apple, which currently have market caps of $3.74 trillion and $3.13 trillion, respectively.

The chipmaker, known for producing hardware that supports AI technologies, surpassed the $2 trillion mark in February 2024 and then went on to exceed $3 trillion by June.

According to reports, Nvidia is recognized as a leader in developing graphics processing units that enhance large-scale language models, driving significant demand during the ongoing AI boom.

So far in 2025, Nvidia’s stock has seen a notable increase, rising 22% since the beginning of the year and over 15% just in the past month.

This surge is particularly surprising given existing geopolitical tensions and restrictions on chip exports to China, which have posed challenges for sales in that market.

In May, Nvidia disclosed that new export restrictions on its H20 chips for the Chinese market could lead to a revenue shortfall of $8 billion. Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, stated during a revenue call that the $50 billion Chinese market is effectively closed off for U.S. companies.

However, potential opportunities appear to be emerging in other markets. In May, former President Donald Trump visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and criticized agreements that allowed the emirate to purchase advanced semiconductors from the U.S., which could lead to the establishment of a major AI campus abroad.

While the specific chips approved for UAE purchase were not identified, reports indicated that Huang was seen with Trump and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan, leading to speculation about Nvidia’s involvement in the UAE’s tech plans.

Additionally, Nvidia has unveiled plans to construct an AI supercomputer in Texas and to invest up to $500 billion in AI production within the United States.
