NY high student killed, another clinging to life in tragic crash two days before graduation

One West Chester High School senior was killed and another survived in a car crash early Tuesday morning, just days before he was scheduled to graduate.

The two Foxland High School students were traveling at a high rate of speed on a Bedford Hills highway just before 2:30 a.m. when they lost control of their sedan and crashed into several cars parked in a nearby parking lot, Bedford Police Lt. Jeff Glick said. He told News 12.

Both were rushed to Westchester Medical Center, but the driver, 18-year-old Joshua Martinez Arana, died from his injuries, the school confirmed.

The passenger, another senior from the class of 2024, remains in critical condition, Gulick said.

The pair are set to graduate from Fox Lane High School on Thursday, according to reports.

Bedford Central School District Superintendent Robert Glass sent a letter to parents Tuesday morning about the tragedy.
