A Mercedes-driving Instagram model from New York blames partying drugs and time travel for last week’s three-vehicle crash in downtown Miami that reportedly killed two people, including her father.
Macy Marie Lazars, 24, told police she was under the influence of “pink cocaine” when she ran a red light, crashed into a black Range Rover and tried to flee the scene on Aug. 10. According to WPLG.
“Pink cocaine,” also known as “Tusi” or 2C, is a synthetic drug mixture linked to dangerous Venezuelan gangs and rampant in New York City’s drug industry.
According to a video obtained by the outlet, Judge Mindy S. Glaser of the 11th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida read from the police report, “She confessed to being under the influence of ‘2C,’ a known party drug, and to having a crystal ball from the future.”
Mr Lazar’s car and Range Rover collided with a silver Suzuki sedan carrying three people on their way to work.
The 24-year-old driver of the Range Rover suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Suzuki, Abraham Ismael, was extricated from the vehicle and died at Jackson Memorial Hospital, the media reported, citing an arrest report.
The back seat passenger died instantly.
Ismael’s wife, Juanita Hernandez, was sitting in the passenger seat and survived the crash.
Hernandez said she was hospitalized and unable to work because of her injuries, and that her husband leaves behind a 16-year-old son.
“My injuries have left me unable to work and my son’s life has been turned upside down,” his heartbroken wife wrote. On GoFundMe. “His mother, who lives in Nicaragua, has Parkinson’s disease and is now not only grieving, but also losing the financial support her son provided.”
Lazar, whose driver’s license has been suspended since January, tried to flee the scene of the accident but was stopped by a passerby, who grabbed him and returned him to the scene of the accident. Local 10 reported.
Police found Ms Lazar vomiting and she later admitted to being under the influence of party drugs.
Rather, whose Instagram account shows her in revealing clothes and bikinis, wore a green suicide prevention vest during her court appearance on Friday.
Her social media accounts, with just 11,000 followers, say she is signed to two modelling agencies and her profile says she has “money in my (brain)” and “the best in real life.”
The Instagram model, who hails from Fort Plain, New York, has reportedly been living in the state since 2022.
Prosecutors described Rather as a “potential flight risk” because of current and potential future felony charges he faces.
According to court records reviewed by The Washington Post, Rather was charged with four counts of operating a vehicle without a license resulting in death or serious injury and four counts of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death or serious injury, both felonies.
“She is an absolute danger to the community, both from her murder and from driving a vehicle she shouldn’t have been in, and judging by her statements, she is clearly mentally unstable,” Glaser said, “and without the residents and witnesses who stopped her, she would have gotten away with it entirely.”
Judge Glazer ordered Rather held on $140,000 bail.
If the reduced bail is paid, Lazar will be subject to a “no driving order” and house arrest.
