NY Jets fans land on list for most foul-mouthed fans in NFL

Are you serious?

Despite the failures of both teams last year that infuriated fans, New York football fans barely made it onto the top 10 list of the NFL's most foul-mouthed fans, a new study says.

Betting site FlashPix determined the league's biggest toilets by scouring expletive-filled posts on each of the 32 teams' Reddit channels and counting the total number of profanities.

Last season, when the Detroit Lions won their first Division I title since 1993, they earned an ignominious honor for even their rudest fans. Fans spewed an impressive 288 insults on the subreddit, including three C-bombs.

The Las Vegas Raiders came in second with a total of 274 taunts from their fans, while the Pittsburgh Steelers came in third with 238 taunts.

Last season, despite Gang Green's 7-10 record, which started with quarterback Aaron Rodgers tearing his Achilles tendon in the opening game, Jets fans were disappointed in their page. He restrained himself and deployed only 170 curses, including 53 F-bombs, which was good for 10th place.

“We were an incompetent, mediocre franchise, and the rankings deserved that,” longtime Jets fan and podcast host Joe Parbadilla told the Post. “We're not top five, we're not at the bottom. We're in the middle of that mediocrity.”

The Giants, who missed the playoffs with just six wins last season, finished 29th with an 80-shot curse.

Jacksonville Jaguars fans proved to be the kindest fan base in the league last year, posting just 48 abusive comments on the subreddit.

The Philadelphia Eagles' thugs not only hurled a barrage of profanities, but also threw part of a fence and climbed a traffic pole after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in last year's Super Bowl. But strangely, he turned out to be more calm online. These bird-brained hardcore players only uttered 154 abusive words, ranking 16th in the league.

FlashPicks director of operations Callum Broxton warned against dismissing all football fans as a bunch of nagging idiots.

“Poor-mouthed fans are in the minority, as less than 1% of the words used on each subreddit were curse words,” he says.
