The Trump White House on Friday criticized the New York Times for headlines referring to his “misdeported” Maryland father who claims the administration is an illegal immigrant with an indeed violent criminal history.
“The Senator meets a Maryland man who was accidentally deported from El Salvador,” the headline of a Thursday evening article posted on the New York Times front page.
The report focused on Senator Chris Van Hollen, who flew to El Salvador this week to El Salvador to meet with the illegal alien deported Kilmer Abrego Garcia.

Garcia, a 29-year-old illegal immigrant from Maryland, was deported to the MegaPrison Terrorism Confinement Centre (CECOT) in El Salvador last month. Authorities confirmed in court that his deportation was an administrative error. But now, Trump’s top officials say he was taken away correctly and claim he is a member of the infamous MS-13 gang.
“I fixed that for @nytimes,” White House said. I wrote about Friday morning on X.
The tweet includes images of the headlines to help the official White House account run through the words “mistakes” and “Maryland Man” and add their own preferred language.
“The Senator meets with illegal Allen of El Salvador deported MS-13 who will not return,” reads the White House version.
“Yeah, by the way, @Chrisvanhollen – he’s not back,” the White House social media account added.

President Donald Trump also called on the Maryland Senator with his true social account.
“Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen looks like a fool standing in El Salvador yesterday, attracting attention from fake news media and anyone, Trump wrote.
“Kilmer Abrego Garcia has been illegally accused of and held in an infamous prison in El Salvador – prohibited from contacting his family or attorney,” Van Hollen said Thursday. Van Hollen also spoke to the El Salvador media in a video posted to YouTube.
“I said the main goal of this trip was to meet Kilmer. I had that chance tonight. I called his wife, Jennifer, to share his love message. I look forward to providing a complete update on my return.”

Both the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Supreme Court have ordered the Trump administration to “promote” Garcia’s release and return to the United States for a proper deportation lawsuit.
The Trump administration also released information Wednesday, showing that Abrego Garcia’s wife accused him of repeatedly abused him.
Fox News has obtained a written domestic violence allegation filed in court by Vazquez in 2021 against Abrego Garcia.
In her own handwritten filing, Vazquez claims that Abrego Garcia has repeatedly beaten her, saying, “At this point I am afraid that I will be near him. [has] He left me. ”
