NYC 5-year-old twins found unresponsive, ‘foaming at the mouth,’ by mother: police

A New York City mother was distraught after finding her two 5-year-old twins dead in her family's apartment late Monday night.

The New York City Police Department told FOX News Digital that on Monday around 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call to assist a child at 240 East 175th Street.

Arriving officers found the 5-year-old brother and sister unconscious and unresponsive. Authorities later said the children were “foaming at the mouth” when their mother found them.

Emergency services responded and pronounced the rescued children dead at the scene.

The mother, who was not identified, told police that both children were vomiting and that she may have given them Tylenol.

Police do not suspect foul play. NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenney said all reports indicate her mother “was very involved in all things related to her children.”

“She was an active participant in their medical care and an active participant in their schooling,” he said. “Her neighbors doted on her and say they were her quiet, loving family. At this point, it's just a medical condition until the medical examiner says otherwise.” It looks like a tragedy.”
