A 4-year-old girl was left in the back seat of a car that was robbed Friday night while her mother ran errands in Queens, police said.
Police officials said the 31-year-old mother parked her car at a laundromat near 101st Avenue and 113th Street in South Richmond Hill just after 4:30 p.m. and drove off, leaving her 4-year-old child in the back seat. It was left abandoned. .
That's when two men took the opportunity to jump into a red 2023 Acura Integra and drive off with the baby strapped in the back seat, the NYPD said.
The girl and her car were found at 101st Street and Saunders Place just after 7 p.m.
Police sources told the Post that the girl was not injured and did not seek treatment at any hospital after being seen by paramedics.
Photos show the youngster seemingly unbothered by the ordeal. She gave a slight smile to the photographer on scene and held a pair of bulging green rubber gloves in her hand.
The girl hugged the police officer and smiled.
After being reunited with her daughter, her mother appeared to be trying to regain her composure, showing a look of relief and pain while sitting in the back seat of the ambulance.
The two kidnappers remain at large. Police sources said they were charged with grand theft and could face kidnapping-related charges in the future.
Investigation is ongoing.
This is the second carjacking in the Big Apple in recent days involving a child.
