NYC Democrat asks ‘where are the men’ doing something about savage attacks on women. Critics tell her: On trial.

Recently, there has been a spate of unprovoked attacks on women in broad daylight in New York City. The brutal assault also sparked outrage among some Democrats.

One Democratic New York City Council member in particular asked why men aren’t stepping up across the board to address this issue. Critics were quick to point to City Councilwoman Amanda Farias as one possible reason. That’s because she and other leftists had previously denounced the men’s intrusion.

Blaze News previously reported that various women peacefully moving on Manhattan sidewalks have been subject to vicious attacks in recent weeks. Apparently social media influencer Halley Kate McGookin was one of them.

“I was literally just walking and this guy came up to me and punched me in the face,” McGookin said in a video that recently went viral, choking and crying.

“Oh my god, it hurts so much. I can’t even talk,” McGookin added.

Another recent victim, Sarah Harvard, was attacked from behind on March 19 on her way to a comedy gig on the Lower East Side.

“I was walking and out of nowhere bam!” she wrote to X. “I almost fell. I felt a throbbing pain in the back of my skull and my brain was rattling.”

At least one person has been arrested, 40-year-old Brooklyn resident Skiboky Stra, but it appears there may be more than one attacker.

Where have all the good people gone?

As anger grows over the attack, the left-leaning New York City Council
women’s caucus “We are deeply disturbed and concerned by the widespread reports of assaults on women in New York City that the New York City Police Department has identified.”

“The Women’s Caucus calls on the NYPD to conduct an immediate and comprehensive investigation into these incidents and provide transparent and up-to-date information to the public,” the statement continued. “We encourage New Yorkers with similar experiences to report them to the NYPD for a thorough investigation. With an alarming trend in violence against women, this type of violence is reprehensible. Masu.”

New York City Council Majority Leader Amanda Farias also shared this statement, adding, “Where are the men shouting this?”

In May 2023, witnesses said Jordan Neely, a 30-year-old homeless man with a criminal arrest record, threatened various passengers on the New York City subway.

One witness told FOX News Digital: “I was sitting on the train reading a book and all of a sudden I heard someone spouting this rhetoric. He said, ‘If you don’t kill F. I don’t care if it doesn’t happen or not, I’ll do it. I’ll go to jail. I’ll get shot.”

Passengers boarded to one side of the train to avoid Neely, especially after he allegedly used the words “bullet” and “kill.”

“Why on earth do you get shot? Why? You don’t get shot because you took something out of someone’s hand. You get shot because of violence,” the female witness said.

Officially, women and men alike are at risk, but former Marine Daniel Perry, then 24, wasn’t just shouting about the danger. He did something about it.

“His three main threats over and over again were: ‘I’m going to kill you,’ ‘I’m ready to go to prison for the rest of my life,’ and ‘I don’t care if I die,'” Penny later recalled.

The former Marine put Neely in a chokehold. Neely then died.

A female eyewitness said, “It was self-defense. I believe in my heart that I saved many people who might have been hurt that day.”

Leftists such as Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (New York)
hurriedly denounced Paints Penny and Neely as victims.

Amanda Farias was one of the most vocal critics of Penny’s attempts to restore order and protect women.

Farias wrote on May 11, 2023, “We are still heartbroken and outraged by the death of Jordan Neely and the lack of justice. @BLACaucusNYC demands justice for Mr. Jordan and has let him down. We stand together to pay attention to the system,” he tweeted. Please don’t lose any more black New Yorkers to senseless violence. ”

Penny was eventually indicted by a Manhattan grand jury on charges of second-degree manslaughter. His trial is scheduled for October.

backlash

Critics took Farias’ comments Thursday, pointing to her past disdain for New Yorkers who would intervene if they saw a woman being randomly attacked.

Christina Pushau, an aide to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), was one of many who responded to Farias’ questions with a photo of Penny.

I got it. Farias, who is now desperate for police to do something about the trend of unprovoked attacks on women, said she used to be desperate to get police to kneel.

When Farias was still a City Council candidate, the paper emphasized the need for a “significant divestment from police departments,” calling for “cutting the NYPD’s operating budget and creating real solutions and justice for New Yorkers.” He emphasized that Japan has pledged to support “partnering with local communities to create new ideas.”

Since taking office, she has made good on her anti-police pledge and sponsored “.Number of stopsShe also helped override Mayor Eric Adams’ subsequent veto attempt.

Republican New York City Councilwoman Vicki Palladino I got it. A real solution to the problems Farias seems to be concerned with right now may involve addressing laws that allow criminals to roam the streets freely.

“‘Crying out’ a problem doesn’t really help much unless a solution follows up. Progressives are completely opposed to solutions that actually work,” Palladino said. wrote.
