According to reports, a 10-year-old girl fell to her death from a window of a building in the Bronx after being left home alone.
Police were called to 2157 Southern Boulevard in East Tremont around 8:45 p.m. Thursday on a report of a girl falling from a window of a building.
The girl may have been alone in the home at the time of the fall, and police said she had injuries that indicated she had fallen from a height.
She was transported by private vehicle to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The mother left for a doctor's appointment around 4:30 p.m.
Sources said she returned home and found the girl lying in the courtyard outside the building.
Police are examining CCTV footage to determine whether the girl was under supervision and whether she fell from a window or roof.
Neighbors were in shock after the girl's death, with one telling CBS that she had always been friendly and kind to those around her.
“He was such a sweet person. He would always say 'good morning' to us. He was a sweet person,” neighbor Antoinette Talamone told the outlet.
“It's just so sad. Someone lost their child, their cousin, a little kid, and maybe their friends at school missed them. It's just unbelievable,” Bronx resident Madeline Martinez told CBS.
The city coroner will determine the child's cause of death, police said.
No charges or arrests have been filed in the case.
