A homeless woman sleeping outside the Staten Island ferry terminal on Wednesday morning woke up to a real-life nightmare in which she was sexually assaulted by a pervert, police said.
Police said that at about 4:20 a.m., the 35-year-old victim was lying on the ground near a restaurant in the St. George Terminal when an unknown man approached her and began sexually abusing her.
The woman is known to frequently sleep in the area and was not physically injured during the attack.
The male suspect fled on foot and no arrests have been made.
The NYPD described him as about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium build and fair skin.

He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with white writing, blue jeans and red and black sneakers.
Investigators are urging anyone with information about the assault or the suspect to call the NYPD Crime Tip Line at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
