A heavily armed Queens man who shared radical jihadist views online was arrested in his car early Wednesday morning, with sources saying they feared the crank was planning something “very bad.”
Judd Sansom, 30, was taken into custody just after 4:30 a.m., and officers found a loaded gun, nine loaded magazines, a bulletproof vest, handcuffs, two axes, a stun gun, several knives, a weighted whip, a retractable baton and NYPD “items,” police officials said.
Button said, “You gave me no choice, I’m sorry. [sic] According to sources, the word contains the Arabic meaning “learn today” and “God forgive me.”
An orange MTA vest was also spotted, sources said.
“Given what was inside, something very bad could have been prevented,” one officer told The Post. “The intent is still under investigation. Put it all together and something very bad could have happened.”
Sansom also reportedly expressed extremist views in online posts, according to the people.
According to sources, officers from Queens’ 110th Precinct Police Station questioned Sansom after a traffic stop near 23rd Avenue and 86th Street at around 1 a.m. He had a weapon Drive a Ford Explorer.
Police initially pulled over the SUV because its license plates were concealed and believed the suspect was living in the vehicle and was a habitual drug user, officials said.
Sansom has never been arrested in New York before.
Police gave him a ticket for a license plate violation and charged him with illegal possession of a weapon and ammunition, officials said.
