NYC Mayor Adams slams Dems for focusing more on Hitler, fascism rhetoric over ‘working-class people issues’

New York City Mayor Eric Adams accused his fellow Democrats of focusing their campaign messages too much on the horrors of fascism instead of addressing “the problems of working-class people.”

on friday Appeared on ABC News “The View” Adams told the left-wing panel that Democrats lost the election because they failed to prioritize addressing issues that affect everyday life in the United States.

“What are we doing for the common man in this country?”

“What you saw in this city and this election, when you saw the city change and the state grow redder, it was because we stopped talking about the problems of working class people. '' said Adams. “What mothers fear is, 'I can't afford college tuition. My rent is too high. My health care costs are too high.'” We stop talking to New Yorkers and Americans on a daily basis. I did. ”

Adams explained that working-class Americans are far more concerned about affordability than fascism. He appears to be criticizing the Democratic Party's campaign to compare President-elect Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.

“When I'm talking to them on the street, they're not asking me, 'Tell me about fascism,'” Adams insisted. “They're talking about finance. They're not talking about Hitler, they're talking about housing. We need to talk to everyday working-class people, and we've stopped doing that.”

Co-host Joy Behar pushed back on Adams' comments, insisting that Democrats are certainly working on these issues.

“Part of the job of a campaign is to get your message across and make your message clear,” Adams responded. “Even their party pundits were saying, 'Get back on message.' What are we doing for the common man in this country? And this same thing will happen in 2022. It happened. When I got elected in 2022, I said, 'Listen, we need to talk about crime in this country.' They ignored it. We said we have to address this immigration and refugee issue in the 2023 election. we had to ignore it. Those issues that people are worried about. ”

Since April 2022, more than 210,000 foreign nationals have arrived in New York City. City taxpayers spent more than $2.3 billion to provide accommodations for immigrants.

Adams announced last week that the city would stop providing prepaid debit cards to immigrant arrivals at the end of the year, Blaze News previously reported.
