Incident in New York City Skyscraper

A gunman opened fire in a Midtown Manhattan skyscraper on Monday evening, reportedly expressing dissatisfaction with the NFL. The individual, identified as Shane Tamra, killed several people, including NYPD officers, before taking his own life. He left behind a memo on the 33rd floor that referenced the NFL.

Sources indicated that Tamra, 27, might have struggled with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a condition often linked to repeated head injuries. His background as a high school football player at Granada Hills Charter in California was noted.

The attack occurred at 345 Park Avenue, where the NFL headquarters is situated on the fifth floor. Sources also revealed that Tamra had a history of mental health issues. He drove across the country, with his car last spotted in New Jersey shortly before the rampage began.

New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tish reported that four individuals, including police officers, were among the dead, while several others sustained injuries. An NFL employee was also critically injured, prompting NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to reach out to employees about the tragic incident, assuring them of support for those affected.

As the situation unfolded, Goodell highlighted the ongoing nature of the investigation and urged staff to remain vigilant.
