Two people were shot during a party in a Brooklyn park on a bloody Saturday night across New York, police and law enforcement sources said.
According to the New York Police Department, a 53-year-old woman and a 70-year-old man were hit by a vehicle in Livonia Park in Brownsville around 10:30 p.m.
Police said a 53-year-old woman was shot once in the right leg and twice in the torso, and a 70-year-old man was shot once in the left leg.
Both were taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition.
Several people were taken in for questioning, but no charges were dropped, according to the New York Police Department.
The shooting was just one of several that rocked New York on Saturday, including an unrelated incident just outside Livonia Park.
Police said a 17-year-old boy shot himself in the left leg at about 4:40 p.m. at an address in the suburb of Nehemiah Park. He is in stable condition, but the NYPD has not said whether the incident was accidental.
At the same time, a 43-year-old man was shot in the left leg at the intersection of Bronx River Avenue and East 172nd Street in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx.
Police say the suspect, a Hispanic man wearing a white shirt, fled the scene in a sedan and remains at large. The victim is in stable condition.
Five hours later, a 43-year-old man was shot in the right leg a mile away in Charlotte Gardens. The gunman fled.
According to the New York Police Department, two people were shot at Grant Houses in Manhattanville around 7:30 p.m.
A 37-year-old man was shot once in the shoulder and a 20-year-old woman was shot once in the right hand. Both were taken to hospital in stable condition.
Police said the shooter, a man wearing a white shirt and black pants, remains at large.
All five shootings remain under investigation.
