A New York City woman is sharing her story of being sucker punched in broad daylight last week, resulting in a broken jaw and missing teeth.
said Dulce Pichardo, 57. FOX5 New York after she was randomly assaulted on Grand Avenue in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Prospect Heights on Tuesday.
“That’s why I’m here telling my story,” Picardo, whose mouth is wired shut after breaking his jaw, said through gritted teeth. “I don’t want this to happen again.”
Pichardo was walking home from work when he suddenly passed a man who punched him in the face.

“As soon as I passed, he hit me really hard…He didn’t say anything,” she told the station. “I was bleeding a lot. It hurt. I knew something was broken because I could feel it.”

Picardo said the blow not only broke her jaw, but also knocked out her teeth and left her with permanent nerve damage.
She ran to her family’s restaurant and told her brother Faust what had happened. Faust chased the suspect, who denied hitting Pichardo, police said.

Police arrived after someone called 911 and arrested the man, identified as 33-year-old Franz Judy.

The suspect was later arrested and charged in connection with the incident. (FOX5 New York WNYW)
Judy was charged with assault and harassment, but the station reported that she pleaded not guilty and was released without bail. He is scheduled to appear in court in May.
This incident is one of several similar attacks on women in New York City in recent days.
Within the past two weeks, several young female victims have posted on TikTok about the horrifying moments when they were approached and beaten by strangers.

A suspect, identified as 40-year-old Sukiboki Sutra, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with assault in connection with an incident involving a 25-year-old woman who sustained head injuries on March 25. He was indicted.
