NYC woman raped at knifepoint while walking home: NYPD

The Queens woman was raped at knifepoint while walking to the house early Friday by a man wearing a “scary ghost face” t-shirt, officers said.

The 50-year-old victim was on 162nd Street in Jamaica and 89th Avenue in Jamaica, police said.

The attacker, featuring an illustration of a ghost with a knife, took off south on 89th Avenue, and the victim was taken to the hospital in a stable state.

News of the attack left neighbors at the edge.

Dario Martinez, a retired '80s, said he had lived in the area for over 20 years and was shocked by the rape but was not surprised.

“What a god!” he said with his eyes and mouth wide open when he was informed of the incident. “You need to be careful at night. It's dangerous around here. Very, very bad. I'm not surprised. By 9, no one is walking here, especially the elderly.”

The rape suspect finally wore a black baseball cap with a white adidas logo, Air Jordan 3 black and white sneakers, a “scary ghost face” and a black sweatshirt with a red lettering on black pants.

A neighbor who identified herself only as 82-year-old Carmen said she was afraid she would go outside.

“After 6pm, I'm not going anywhere,” she said. “When you go out you have to have a ride to take me and bring me back.”

Latrenda Frazier, 58, who cares for her elderly mother, said that if a man attacked her, he fought her teeth and claws.

The alleged rapist is said to have a mild complexion between the ages of 20 and 30, and has dark hair weighing about 5 feet-6 and about 120 pounds, officers said. DCPI

“You have to cut me, you have to shoot me… But you're not having sex with me,” she said. “I scream, I'll scream. I'll fight back. He'll have to kill me, or he'll be killed – it's either, but he's not doing it to me.”

She felt that she was “really bad” for the victim, she added.

“She's probably traumatized,” Fraser said. “I hope she regains her confidence. That's not easy.”
