New York police arrested a man Wednesday in connection with a series of stabbings that have injured at least five people in Queens since last week, police said.
Authorities said 27-year-old Jermaine Riguerre has been charged in four of the five attacks. He is charged with attempted murder, assault, attempted assault and possession of a weapon. FOX5 New York reported.
The victims of the stabbing included four men and one woman, all with non-life-threatening injuries. The female was 34 years old, and the male was 36 to 74 years old.
Five stabbings believed to have been committed by the same perpetrator have been reported in the past nine days.

The first attack occurred on Monday, January 8th. A 61-year-old man was stabbed in the back near 157th Street and 137th Street around 6:20 p.m. Police said the suspect laughed in the victim's face after the attack.
The second incident occurred on Tuesday, when a 34-year-old woman was assaulted near 158th Street and 134th Street just after midnight. According to the NYPD, the victim was on her way home when an unidentified man accosted her from behind. The suspect stabbed the woman in the right side of her torso with a knife and fled on foot heading east on 134th Street. the police said.

The third and fourth attacks occurred on Wednesday and involved the same suspect. Around 7:30 a.m., the same man attacked two people at 134th Street and Guy Brewer Boulevard, police said. The victims were a 74-year-old man who was stabbed in the back and a 41-year-old man who was stabbed in the abdomen.
The first victim, a 74-year-old man, was accompanied by his wife to work on 134th Street, NYPD said. As the two were walking, the suspect ran up behind him and stabbed the man in the back without saying anything, FOX 5 reported. From there, the suspect fled to 161st Street, where he attacked and stabbed a 41-year-old man in the abdomen as he left his home to move his car to a legal parking lot, police said.

The fifth stabbing occurred 25 minutes later in Jamaica, Queens, near Parsons Boulevard and Archer Avenue, police said. Police said the 36-year-old man was riding the bus to work when he got into an argument with the suspect over his seat. According to authorities, the suspect and victim got off the bus at Parsons Boulevard and Archer Street, and the suspect stabbed the victim once before fleeing on foot.
Police said the suspect tried to talk to the victims, but they did not understand.

New York City police suspect the same man was involved in all five stabbings and are investigating a sixth stabbing in which a man was stabbed on a northbound J train in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Announced. The suspect in this attack matches the description of a man wanted in connection with another stabbing, FOX 5 reports.
All victims are expected to recover.
